2025 FORPS Springtime Fair

1. Tell us your name and your role in the fair committee

We are your friendly neighbourhood Fair-y Godmothers – Jackie, Kym, Hayley and Vikki. We’re a wacky bunch of RPS mums who put our hands up for too many things – lucky we love it!

Our role is to oversee the planning of the fair and support our brilliant stall coordinators to bring their ideas to life. We get to meet loads of interesting people and come up with ways to build community, create memories and raise a bit of money for the school while we do it.

2. What are you most looking forward to at the fair this year?

There are so many exciting things to do, rides to experience, animals to pat, and treasures to find at this year’s fair – it wouldn’t be fair (ha) for us to single one thing out. However, as a new addition, we are really excited to see the school mural unfold throughout the day. This creative wizardry is funded by our friends at North-East link and will give the school community a chance to contribute to a creative project to celebrate Rosanna Primary School’s 85th birthday. What a lovely gift – you’re welcome RPS!

3. Where will people be able to find you on the day?

We’ll be the mad ones running around the school with our trainers on and clipboards in hand, but you may also find at least one of us at the Centre Management stall, selling wristbands, answering questions, reuniting lost property (and children?) with their owners and supporting our first aiders (they do such great work).

Centre Management will be located outside the admin building – right near the top of the snazzy new ramp!

4. What are your top tips for a fab fair?

  • Stay hydrated
  • Have some cash in your wallet – some stalls will have eftpos facilities but others won’t. It’s best to be prepared.
  • Don’t wear stilettos
  • If you or your kiddo are feeling overwhelmed, we’ll have a gorgeous chill out space in the library, so settle in and get that calm breathing back (before heading back out to soak Mr Jackson in the Dunk Tank…)

5. How can people get involved?

We’re so glad you asked.

School holidays are nearly here and we know what you’re thinking – spring clearout time!

If you’re planning to Marie Kondo your house and get rid of things that no longer spark joy (and are in good condition), please consider donating them to the fair! We need your pre-loved books and toys for our second hand stall. We also desperately need to borrow marquees to ensure our friendly stallholders are protected from the elements.

Also, it takes a village to raise a fair and early next term we’ll be calling on our school community to sign up to volunteer throughout the day. There are loads of interesting roles from set up and pack down crew, cash handlers, baristas, face painters, stall attendants, stage managers and more – something for every skill and energy level. So keep your eyes peeled.

Have a great holiday and we can’t wait to work with you!
