Relieving Principal's Message

From the Desk of Liselle Abbott - Term 3, Week 9

Good afternoon, Parents/Carers,

We are nearing the end of Term 3.  Please be advised that it is important that your child attend school each day up until the last day of term.

Behaviour Focus

Our behaviour focus for Week 9 is again Safe,

We are learning to:

  • Recognise and know what to do after bullying happens

What does it look and sound like:

  • Stay away and ignore
  • Don't hold a grudge - let it go
  • Follow the teacher's instructions
  • Move on
  • Don't react
  • Build resilience

Turn Up Awards

Congratulations to our Turn Up Award winners for Week 8.  You will receive a voucher to use at the school canteen.

Our winners were:

K/1B -        Indianna

2/3O -        Rose

4/5/6W -   Kaedan

Spring Show

Congratulations to our Dance Troupe who performed at the Quirindi Spring Show on Saturday.  Our dancers gave a fantastic performance.  Thank you to our parents who ensured that all students involved arrived on time and ready to perform.

School Assembly

It was great to see so many Parents/Caregivers and family come to our assembly last Friday.  Congratulations to all students who received awards on the day and to our 4/5/6W class who gave a very informative presentation on the wild animals they have been researching this term.

Capers

The first of our whole school rehearsals for Capers was held last Wednesday at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment Centre in Tamworth.  Our students were very well behaved and represented Werris Creek Public School with pride.  Congratulations.  A big thank you to the parents who ensured students were at school by 8:30am so we could get on the road early and make the most of this session.  Our staff and students will be attending a number of rehearsals in the coming weeks leading up to the performances on Friday, 7th and Saturday, 8th November. We have three entries into Capers this year being, Choir, Cultural Dance and the Small Schools Performance.  Each entry has different rehearsal times and dates. We will be providing transport for all rehearsals, and we ask that all students arrive to school by 8:30am to ensure we arrive at the TREC on time.  Please note this is very important as we must abide by the Capers schedule. All students should now have provided the school with their costumes for Capers.  If you have not already done so, could you please ensure that your child's costume is sent into school ASAP. Please look to the Important Information & Events Tab on this newsletter for details on what is required and times of rehearsals.

Kind regards
