Respectful Relationships

Promoting Respect, Equality, and Positive Gender Relationships

🤝 Respectful Relationships & The Orange Door

Building Safe, Respectful Communities for All

At Our Lady’s, we believe that every child has the right to feel safe, respected, and valued. As part of our commitment to wellbeing and inclusion, we continue to embed the Respectful Relationships initiative across our school community.

Respectful Relationships is about more than just teaching kindness—it’s about equipping students with the skills to build healthy friendships, resolve conflict peacefully, and understand the importance of equality and respect in all relationships.

This term, students have been exploring:

  • Emotional literacy and empathy
  • Positive gender norms
  • Problem-solving and help-seeking
  • Respectful communication

These lessons are vital in helping children grow into confident, compassionate individuals who contribute to safe and inclusive communities.

🧡 The Orange Door – Support When It’s Needed Most

We also want to highlight the important work of The Orange Door, a free service that supports individuals and families experiencing family violence or needing help with parenting and wellbeing.

The Orange Door provides:

  • Help for people experiencing or at risk of family violence
  • Support for child wellbeing and development
  • Connection to practical supports like housing, financial aid, and counselling
  •

If you or someone you know needs support, The Orange Door is a safe and welcoming place to start. You don’t need a referral, and you can contact them directly.
