Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop: Comprehension learning based upon our class text and drafting and publishing a Narrative story for our Buddies in Year 1/2.

Christian Studies: Exploring Christian Beliefs, focusing on the Holy Trinity and how this informs a Christian view of the world. We will also start looking at the reason and purpose of Holy Communion. 3/4R will be preparing the Friday Chapel message. The class is leading Worship on Friday 12th September at 8.50.

Unit of Inquiry: As part of our ‘Who we are’ unit of inquiry we are continuing to explore mindfulness strategies through the Mindup Program. This assists student’s emotional wellbeing and social skills and develop their understandings of how the brain operates.

We collate and reflect upon our learning for the ‘How We Organise Ourselves’ inquiry unit on Trade and Transport and prepare presentations for celebration of learning to share processes involved trade and transport of products and resources locally and globally.

During Mathematics learning time, classes will continue to build their understanding of decimals as part of the base-ten system. We will explore real world scenarios such as (weight, length, time, sports, prices) to understand parts of a whole and to make decimal learning meaningful. Students will apply decimals to represent money amounts; solve problems involving addition and subtraction of decimals.
