Speech Pathology and Audiology Degrees in Victoria in 2025 

 

Speech Pathologists study, diagnose and treat communication and swallowing disorders, including difficulties with speech, language, fluency and voice.  Four Victorian universities offer an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology, and these courses on offer are listed below.  A number of these universities also offer graduate courses in speech pathology.

 

Audiologists are health care professionals who identify, assess and manage disorders of hearing, balance and other neural systems.

 

Note: From 2026, Monash University will be offering the Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) at the Peninsula Campus. 

 

Note: The University of Melbourne offers a Master of Speech Pathology and the entry requirement for this course is the successful completion of an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (Science, Biomedicine, Linguistics, Phonetics, Education, Psychology).

 

From 2025, Deakin University is also offering a Master of Speech Pathology and the entry requirements are successful completion of any bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (linguistics, biomedicine, health sciences, nursing, midwifery, neuroscience, public health, psychology, education, allied health), plus a unit in human anatomy and physiology.

 

The University of Melbourne also offers a Master of Clinical Audiology, and the entry requirement is an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (Science, Heath Sciences, Biomedicine, Linguistics, Phonetics, Psychology, Music), or equivalent.
