Dear Families,
Building works update
Currently the school has two projects sitting with the VSBA (Victorian School Building Authority) The first is our large scale condition maintenance project. This project looks to significantly rectify condition items associated with our bluestone and redbrick building. These works are all concerning external features and structures of these buildings, as well as some condition items to our portables. There have been several delays in this project which has sat in the tender phase for a while now. The delays are due to the complexities of our heritage buildings ensuring that the contractors who have tendered for the project have a true understanding of the scope of works. We are hoping to have a final tender outcome in the coming weeks.
Our second project is our junior toilet project, which involves the complete redevelopment of our junior toilet block. This project was greenlighted after the school was successful in obtaining a capital works grant. This is at the end of its tender process and we are awaiting the appointment of a contractor.
Both of these projects are managed by the VSBA therefore at no additional cost to the school. Many discussions have been held by a school council and the school’s buildings and grounds sub-committee have been instrumental in providing feedback around these projects.
We look forward to hopefully providing confirmed updates after the school holiday period.
School Uniform and Hats
Recently you would have seen a change in the school’s sun smart policy which saw a change in dates that we are requiring students to wear their sun-smart hats. These changes are in line with Department policy changes and look to increase the awareness of sun smart practices. We ask families to please ensure that all students bring the required sun smart hat to school.
Our school uniform plays a vital role in creating a safe, respectful and focused learning environment. Wearing the uniform promotes equality, reduces distractions, and supports our shared school values. It also helps staff and community members easily identify students, ensuring safety both on and off school grounds. By wearing the uniform with pride, students demonstrate their commitment to our school community and our high expectations.
A reminder to all families that leggings, tracksuit pants, shorts and bike shorts should be in our school colours, not black or navy blue. The only exception is navy blue stockings, which may be worn under the school tunic. Please also note that local sporting team jumpers and hoodies are not part of the school uniform.
We appreciate your support in helping maintain a consistent school uniform for all students.
Upcoming Events
We thank all families for their ongoing support in helping make these experiences possible for our students.
Reminders:

A reminder that the Parent and Guardian Opinion Survey is now open. We encourage all families to take a few minutes to complete the survey, as your feedback plays an important role in helping us understand what we are doing well and where we can continue to improve. To date we have had 41/380 responses (11% of families).
This survey is open until Friday 19th September.
