Year 1 & 2 – Moving Stories Dance Workshop
Recently, a group of excited Year 1 and 2 students travelled to the Arts Centre Melbourne to take part in the Moving Stories dance workshop.
The workshop, offered through the Victorian Challenge & Enrichment Program, gave our students the chance to extend their creativity and skills in performing arts. They explored different dance styles, learned how movement can be used to tell stories, and worked together in collaborative performance activities.
The energy in the room was incredible as students built confidence, expressed themselves in new ways, and discovered the joy of storytelling through dance.
Here are some of their reflections:
- Thomas: “I loved when we did the performance for everyone.”
- Kayla: “We did lots of dancing and games and they were very fun.”
- Evie: “Pretending to be a shark and dancing was fun.”
- Harriet: “I liked it when we were all in a group and made a giant snake.”
- Luca: “The side-to-side warm up was good.”
- Archie: “The shark game was the best because it was fun because I wanted to be a shark.”
A huge thank you to the Arts Centre Melbourne and the Victorian Challenge & Enrichment Program for making this inspiring experience possible for our young performers.
