Principal's Message

By Jenny Hassett

Hello everyone,

The past two weeks have been action‑packed, and May is shaping up to be filled with even more fun and excitement.

We were very proud to host so many parents for our Mother’s Day afternoon. As a staff, we really value these events—Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Grandparents Day and our family picnics. Our curriculum places a strong emphasis on mental health and wellbeing, and an important part of that is practising gratitude for the people who support us, especially our parents. It was wonderful to see students so proud to show you their classroom and our school. For those who couldn’t attend, we completely understand (many of us teachers struggle to get to our own children’s special days too), and we made sure to share that with the students.

FENCE UPDATE: We are still on track for an end‑of‑May finish. You will notice some changes over the coming week, and we are working hard to have our new entrance opened as soon as possible to help with parking.

LIGHTNING PREMIERSHIP: Well done to our Grade 5 and 6 students for your participation in the Lightning Premiership. Staff were very impressed with your efforts and behaviour throughout the day.

SPECIAL EVENTS: We have a number of exciting events coming up over the next two weeks, including author visits, AFL players visiting the school, and excursions.

FAMILY PICNIC: On the 22nd of May we will be holding our family picnic. Please keep an eye on your child’s ClassDojo and the school’s Compass for details regarding times and arrangements.

Wishing you all a great two weeks ahead.

Daniel
