MSA Students Visit the Shrine of Remembrance

On Monday 4th May, students from MSA, Mrs Formoso and support staff member PJ, enjoyed a memorable and highly educational excursion to the Shrine of Remembrance. The visit provided students with a valuable real-world connection to the ANZAC Day learning and classroom discussions that have been taking place throughout the term in preparation for Anzac Day.
During the guided tour, students explored the powerful stories of Australian service men and women, learning about the experiences of war, sacrifice, courage, and remembrance. The engaging and age-appropriate program encouraged students to reflect on the importance of empathy, respect, citizenship, and community responsibility, while deepening their understanding of Australia’s history and values.
We were incredibly proud of the way our students represented Emerson School throughout the day. Their behaviour, engagement, curiosity, and respect during the tour were outstanding, and they should all be congratulated on the mature and positive manner in which they participated.
To conclude a wonderful day of learning, students enjoyed a relaxing picnic lunch together in the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, providing a lovely opportunity to reflect on the day’s experiences and enjoy time together outdoors.
