Maths

Congratulations Foundation students, on completing your Tier 2 Place Value classes! The students have worked hard, investigated different ways of making and showing numbers, practiced reading and writing numerals, and have outdone themselves with their knowledge of tens, ones, breaking down and building up teen numbers, subitising, finding one more and one less, and counting beyond 20. We are so proud of how smoothly students have been transitioning between classes and how ready they are to learn each day. Well done Preps! Next week we will go back to our regular maths lessons in our home group classes.

English

Our students have been busy exploring the weather and seasons and using that knowledge to write information reports. We are so impressed with the insight and expression of our Foundation students. We are seeing so many capital letters, full stops, and beautiful labels and sentences, along with some truly fabulous diagrams. Thank you Preps for your weekly weather reports!

Spanish

Students have been very busy in Spanish, learning the last consonants and their sounds while enjoying a range of activities and games to practise their reading, speaking, listening, and handwriting skills. We have also expanded our vocabulary by learning the names of the seasons, different weather conditions, and the clothes we wear each season. In Inquiry, students have been exploring our community and how we look after the spaces around us. They have been learning to identify natural and built spaces and discovering their favourite places to learn.

Fire Fighters Incursion

We were so lucky to have the Fire Fighters Incursion! Children learned so much about safety and safety procedures, and all about the brave people who help to keep us safe. We especially loved our session with the firetruck, where children were able to get inside the vehicle and even operate the fire hose! What a day! A great big thank you to the Fire Fighters who visited our school!

Colour Run!

We have been so excited for the Colour Run and word on the playground is that the Foundation cohort has done some amazing fund raising for this much loved, annual event. What a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, move our bodies, and raise funds for our school!
