Show your Colours

Yirrkala School
For the past three years we have hosted a group of educators from the Yirrkala School and home school. Yirrkala school is in the Northern Territory.
This year during Reconciliation week we will be fundraising for the Yirrkala school. All funds we raise will go directly to their school to support their wellbeing program. They are excited that we are supporting them and will use the money to purchase materials and resources to support their students and families. Details of how they use the money will be shown in future newsletters.
How can you get involved?
On Friday 29th May you will be asked to show colours outlined below in what you wear to school on the day.
Here is how you can show your colours:
- The Purple Hibiscus: The purple colour represents compassion, healing, and spiritual resilience. You can wear a physical flower, wear a pin, or colour in a flower to display.
- The Aboriginal Flag: Features Black (Aboriginal people), Yellow (the sun), and Red (the earth).
- Wear it Yellow: During the wider National Reconciliation Week (which follows Sorry Day), you can wear yellow as part of a campaign led by First Nations communities to represent the sacred ochre and connection to Country
Torress Strait Islander Flag
The flag features: Teal, blue and white.
