Behaviour Spotlight: Safe & Respectful Interactions
- Being safe around others matters everywhere, at school, home, events, and online
- Think about how your words and actions affect others
- Words can hurt and stay with people for a long time
- Speak kindly and avoid putting others down or making them uncomfortable
Respectful interactions:
- Go beyond avoiding rudeness, show genuine care
- Use polite language (please, thank you)
- Listen when others are speaking
- Check in with others (e.g. ask about their day)
Small actions help others feel valued, safe, and included
Maxi The Dog
Who’s that adorable dog with the wagging tail? That’s Maxi, a trained therapy dog who helps students feel calm, safe, and supported.
- Soft, golden coat and very gentle nature
- Comforts people when they feel stressed or upset
- Stays calm in busy, noisy environments
- Brings a peaceful, positive feeling wherever he goes
Maxi isn’t just cute, he reminds students they’re not alone and helps brighten even tough days. Can’t wait to see you next week Maxi!

Write On Competition 2026
Well done and thank you to the fourteen students who submitted an entry in the Write On Competition this year. I was overwhelmed with the number of entries, which certainly made choosing the Holy Family representatives that much harder.
Congratulations to the following students who have been chosen to represent Holy Family:
Stage 3 – Noah Lu
Stage 2 – Ayn Chang
Stage 1 – Giselle Faure
Thank you to the rest of the students who submitted entries. They were all so diverse and had some lovely messages around the theme: ‘It was a small thing, but it made a difference.’
Well done to all.

How Cool!! a signed artwork from Ken Done.
Congratulations Zoe! When Ken Done, famous Australian artist, discovered that Year Two had completed art works based on his famous harbour scene, he presented Zoe with our very own signed artwork.
Word of the Week: Equality
Equality means being fair and making sure everyone is included. When we show equality, we help create a kind and positive environment for everyone.
For example, if five skipping ropes need to be shared between six friends, taking turns or sharing means no one is left out. When someone is excluded, it can hurt feelings and break trust.
How students can show equality every day:
- Include others in games and group activities
- Take turns and share fairly
- Listen to everyone’s ideas
- Stand up for someone who is left out
- Use kind and respectful words
When we practise equality, we help make our school a place where everyone feels valued, safe, and happy.
Whatever you do in life, give it your 100 percent… Unless you’re donating blood.

Our debating team had an unforgettable week, bringing home two well‑earned victories and showing everyone just how powerful teamwork, preparation, and confidence can be. The win came after a tough round about space exploration, where our speakers delivered calm, clear arguments and handled rebuttals confidently. We congratulate both Cluster Debating teams for all their hard work. They have learnt so much from confidence to detailed rebuttals, it’s been a wonderful 4 weeks.
Shout out to Mika for stepping in at the last minute as a reserve, she did so well and even secured a win!

Have a wonderful weekend.
