National Simultaneous Storytime 2024

On Wednesday, 22 May, over two million children, including 286 Year 7 and 8 students from Mazenod, participated in the 2024 National Simultaneous Storytime. During this event, one picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is selected to be read simultaneously in schools, libraries and childcare centres across Australia. The goal of NSS is to encourage reading and literacy while fostering a sense of community.

This year’s book was a delightful story written by Aura Parker, titled 'Bowerbird Blues.' The Bowerbird takes readers on a journey across sea, sky and city in his quest to collect vibrant blue treasures, but he ends up finding something much more fulfilling than he could have ever imagined.

Happy reading!
