Round 12 Winners
As predicted Round 12 proved difficult for most people with five games that could have gone either way (at least when you were thinking about who to tip) and one major upset. As it turned out Beau Hemley (staff) did extremely well and was the only person who picked six winners and as such is this week’s winner of the $50. Congratulations Beau! Seven other people will be happy with themselves for picking five winners.
With regard to the overall leaderboard, Matt Sinclair (Class of 1983) has extended his lead and is now on 79, Cherie Fry has been joined in second place by Adam Disisto (Class of 2017) and Santino Giancono with all three on 76, with Steve Greenwood (Class of 1982) in fifth place on 75.
Round 13
Round 13 looks like being another challenging round, starts Thursday night and goes all the way through to Monday.
Adelaide v Richmond
Not the most exciting game to start the round. Richmond has been a bit more competitive in the last couple of games and has won two of the last three games played between these sides at the Adelaide Oval, but I would still expect most people to tip Adelaide;
Western Bulldogs v Brisbane
A big game for both sides with Brisbane’s season pretty much on the line. It’s ten years since Brisbane beat the Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium but coming off the bye, they are definitely a chance;
Hawthorn v GWS
This game is being played in Tasmania. Hawthorn is in pretty good form right now and before the bye GWS had lost three of its previous four games but are favourites;
West Coast v North Melbourne – 16th v 18th
Supporters of both sides would be hoping for a win. North has won one of the three games played between these sides at Optus Stadium;
St Kilda v Gold Coast
Gold Coast find themselves in the eight despite not having won away from home all season, this is a big chance for them, but the Saints will be pumped having registered their first win for a while having beaten West Coast on the weekend;
Sydney v Geelong
It’s hard to believe Geelong are third given they have lost four of their last five games. Even though this is 1st v 3rd anything other than a Swans win would be considered an upset;
Essendon v Carlton
A blockbuster game is being played between traditional rivals who sit 2nd and 5th on the ladder on Sunday night at the G. You would expect a crowd of close to 90,000 and for it to be close; and
Collingwood v Melbourne
The 10th Fight for MND game. I hope everyone has bought their beanie to support this worthy cause. A big game for both sides who both sit outside the eight on percentage only. Collingwood still have plenty of injuries and Melbourne were embarrassing against Fremantle. Expect this to be close.
Fremantle and Port Adelaide have the bye.
Please note that as we use the FootyTips website to host our competition we are compelled to adhere to the rules of that website. These rules are available on the website but a couple that are worth drawing to your attention are:
1: If you fail to enter any tips for the round you will be allocated all away teams but the maximum default score for the round will be capped at 5; and
2: If you don’t submit a tip (or a margin) for the nominated game of the week you will be allocated the away team and a margin of zero.
Good Luck and thanks for the support.
