Habitat for Humanity Cambodia
In the first week of holidays from 21 June to the 1 July our Habitat for Humanity Team (11 students from Years 10 & 11 accompanied by Mr Tim Bowles, Mr Leon Moon and Mrs Amy Lane) travelled to Cambodia to build a house for a family in need. This was a great opportunity of living out our school value of Compassion with a focus on learning to serve. Students and staff were honoured to volunteer for an experience with the primary aim of working alongside others in service and participate in cultural exchange.
Students have assisted a community to build a new home for Soa and Sam, their two small children and two grandparents. What an amazing experience! Along with service our students also immersed themselves into the cultural and experiences of Cambodia, including
Visits to Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm in Siem Reap. Stay tuned for student reflections in coming newsletters!
Thank you to the school community for supporting our charitable initiatives throughout this term!

Spiritual development
People thrive as we discover our identity, belonging and purpose. Here at Moama Anglican Grammar we want our students to reflect and thinking deeply on who they are, where they fit and the difference they can make in the world. For a Christian school in the Anglican tradition, pointing people to Jesus and helping them to explore these important questions connects well with our Chapel program and broader spiritual development of students. We aim to respect each person’s story along with the invitation to share in the story of Jesus and provide space for students to share their life with others. Term two saw our Year 10's visit St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral in Melbourne with Year 10 Tutor and Mathematics teacher, Rev. Dr. Theo Van der nest, explaining it significance. Primary students gathered together for Chapel here at school focussing on Ordinary Time (church season focusing on the story of the people of God) and how our school core value of Compassion finds its origin in the compassionate character of God and his love for the world through Jesus. Mr. Moon was also interviewed about living out this value through his volunteering at our upcoming Habitat for Humanity trip to Cambodia.
Kinder Visit to Christ Church Anglican Echuca
On Thursday 6 June the Kinder students and staff took a bus ride to visit Christ Church Anglican in Echuca. The Kinders have been learning about our families and God’s family in RVE. Our visit was to the place of worship of God’s family in the Anglican and our place of worship as Moama Anglican Grammar. Rev. Phil Zamagias welcomed the students and they went on a treasure hunt exploring the church to learn the meaning of symbolic items such as the communion table, the robes in the vestry, the pictures in the stain glass windows and looked through other areas of the church such as the op shop. We even had Margaret, one of our MAG piano teachers, play the pipe organ for us. We finished with some craft and a prayer. We would like to thank Christ Church Echuca for welcoming us to their space.

Philippians 3:13-14
13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead, 14 I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenwards in Christ Jesus.
