Singing Up a Storm

The Junior and Senior Primary Choirs have been singing up a storm all term, practicing before school and during lunch times purely for the love of singing. What a great passion to have and a lovely way to express their gift of music.

Each choir had the opportunity to sing two songs for their peers and parents at the recent GT’s. The Junior choir were led beautifully in the song Umbalayo by Joseph (Froggies), Jemima (Froggies), Emmy (Wallabies) and Holly (Wallabies). This cool African style song, accompanied by djembe and shakers had the audience bobbing and tapping their feet. This was followed by a favourite song, Don’t Forget to Remember, where the students declared how God loves each one and looks after them.

The Senior choir entertained the crowd with some real live Limbo action at the beginning of their opening song, Limbo Lumbo. This rousing, latino- inspired song brought a great energy to the room. Their follow up song, a round called Let’s Sing Altogether, began with sweet solos from Zahara, Abbey, Zharah, and Willow. The choir soon joined them, bringing this beautiful ballade to a close.

Congratulations to all the members of the Senior and Junior Choirs for a wonderful term of singing and music-making. We look forward to hearing more in the second half of the year.
