DISTRICT SPORTS GALA DAY

Last Friday, June 14th, the Seniors had a fantastic day participating in the Term 2 Sports Gala Day. It was a day the students had eagerly anticipated for weeks, and it did not disappoint. Luckily, the weather was on our side as we set off on the bus to the Darebin Community Sports Centre and CT Barling Reserve to play netball and soccer. A cold but dry day, the students got involved without complaints, unphased by the crisp chill in the air. Our Senior students did a fantastic job representing the school and displaying resilience, respect, and teamwork while playing other schools in these games! There were wins, draws, and losses for teams in both sports, but they did not let the results get in the way of them having a good time. A particular shout to our mixed netball team who won all their games, only to lose by one point in the final. You did St. Joseph’s proud! We would also like to sincerely thank all our parent helpers who volunteered their time to support students and staff on this busy day. It ensured the day ran smoothly and all children had a great time. We look forward to Term 3 Gala Day, when we’re sure more fun, great games and good sportsmanship will be seen!
