We are learning to solve division problems using efficient strategies.

VOCABULARY

Division: The process of breaking a number up into equal parts, and finding out how many equal parts can be made.

Efficient: Producing something without wasting time or effort. Doing it the easiest way possible but doing it well. 

Cross-check: Checking something is correct by using another method/strategy.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Encourage children to solve real-life division problems and also motivate them to create and solve their own division problems.

Eg:  You have 24 cupcakes to share equally between 3 plates for your birthday party. How many cakes will go on each plate?

There are 8 children coming to your party. They are all going to the cinema. How many cars will you need to take them there? Each car can take 4 children and a driver.
