Year 10 Queensland Trip
Day 1
Dear Parents/carers of our lovely year 10 Campgoers, Just wanted to provide you a brief update on the fun that we have had so far already, After our very early and chilly morning start at Macleod we were greeted by our fabulous bus driver Leah. We arrived at the airport and after a bit of a luggage check-in delay, we were in had very little time to get a snack and head to our gate (which felt 1000kms away!)
Our plane was slightly delayed, but then we made it in the air, where we also had another surprise waiting for us…. $10 credit for on flight snacks each! When we arrived at Gold Coast Airport, we were met by our friendly bus driver Peter who will be chaperoning us around the Gold Coast over the next few days and after an easy baggage claim and short drive to the beach we were in the water.
Surfing was so much fun, from watching students who have never surfed before gracefully glide across the waves to the total wipe outs! Everyone had a blast, maybe too much of a blast because then we had very little energy for Rock climbing.
We still gave it our all and climbed to new heights and struggled to learn how to belay. Then we finally got to our accommodation where we were able to get settled in to our room have a delicious roast meal, test out the shower pressure, met some new friends from all over the country. We are all pretty exhausted now and ready for bed! We will keep you posted about tomorrow's Wet’n’Wild antics!
