Learning and Teaching in 1/2G

In 1/2G, we've had a fun and dynamic time of learning.  We have explored, created, and collaborated, all while thoroughly enjoying our time together.

Our highlights of Term 2!!

Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) was an absolute blast! We spent time improving our coordination, balance and motor skills while having tons of fun. We especially enjoyed climbing in and out of the boxes.

In Maths, we had a great time creating 3D shapes using Blu Tack and colored sticks. We explored the features of these shapes, such as corners, faces, and edges, while enjoying the activity. We also had a great time learning about length in our classroom! Our young explorers used pop sticks, paper clips, and unifix cubes to measure a variety of objects. It was a fantastic hands-on activity that turned our classroom into a bustling hub of measurement adventures. We also loved comparing lengths and discovering new ways to measure everyday items. Fun and learning truly went hand in hand!

We enjoyed reading picture storybooks and engaging in discussions about the characters, setting, problem, and solution of a fiction story. Using retell ropes, we could effectively retell the stories, making the experience even more valuable.

Our classroom recently learnt about the ANZAC soldiers through stories. Inspired by what we learned, we sketched and then painted portraits of soldiers in their iconic slouch hats. It was a meaningful and creative way to honor these brave individuals, blending history and art in a truly memorable learning experience.

Our Kitchen Garden Program was a culinary delight! We loved the experience of harvesting fresh ingredients from our veggie patch, cooking delicious dishes and, most importantly, enjoying the scrumptious food we prepared together as a class.

What a busy but rewarding time we have had in 1/2G!!
