PLT 2 Excursion
PLT 2 have been discussing Early Australian families as part of their HASS unit. They have been comparing then and now and how they have changed over the years. On the 16th May they travelled to the Rockhampton Heritage Village to spend the morning experiencing how people lived many years ago. They played old fashioned games that children played, they entered buildings with old fashioned furniture and compared how different they appeared back then. They travelled in the transport from then and discussed how different it is now. A great day was had by all as can be seen by the looks on their faces in the photos. PLT 2 will be incorporating the discoveries from this excursion into their culminating event which will take place next Wednesday 12th June.
Beats 'n' Pieces Performance
On Friday 31st May our students had a visit with Benji from Beat 'n' pieces who came and played some amazing music for us. In Performing Arts our students have been learning about Asian music and they all enjoyed this performance.
Share the Dignity
Thank you Share the Dignity, for installing a vending machine, dispensing free sanitary items for our students in need. The 'Share the Dignity in Queensland schools initiative' is proudly sponsored by the Queensland Government to help end period poverty. The Dignity Vending Machine is a world-first innovation that dispenses a free period pack, with six tampons and two pads, at the push of a button #PeriodPack
No Entry Sign
Just a reminder that due to significant traffic congestion and in consultation with Main Roads and the Department of Transport, we installed a "No Entry" sign. This is put in place after morning drop off and is taken down just before afternoon pick up.
If you arrive to school while this sign is in place, you must park your vehicle in a carpark. Please do not block the driveway, while the sign is in place.
Have a look at our amazing display outside administration, by our Prep and Years 1-3 students. Under the direction of Miss Jo, the students have created Koi Fish Kites and Monoprints of Koi Fish swimming.
