Yaama,
This morning the whole school participated in our NAIDOC Week Liturgy. I would like to thank Mrs. Jo Faint for facilitating our yarning circle with our First Nation Students and families. I would also like to say a huge thank you to Mrs. Lisa Vile, who supports our school information and technology. I had a vision in mind, and she made it come to life! Her support and extensive skills assisted me in ensuring that the day to ran smoothly!
On Thursday the 4th of July, the whole school will be participating in NAIDIC Week activities. These activities consist of making NAIDOC loom bands, sand art, NAIDOC banner, Indigenous pendant and more! Children are encouraged to come to school wearing black, red, yellow, blue, green or white, as these are the colours of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flags.
There are a lot of events happening in the first week of the school holidays to celebrate NAIDIC week in the community! Check out the Tamworth NAIDOC Facebook page for more information and events.
