Week 8 Term 2

Then He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit”

John 20:22

Dear Parents and Carers,

Yesterday, some of our Year 6 students celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation. This was a special day and time in the faith journey for the children and their families. The Sacrament of Confirmation is one of the three sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. In the Roman Catholic Church, this sacrament is separated from Baptism. Some of our students belonging to the Orthodox Churches will have already received the sacrament of Confirmation at Baptism.

Thank you to Bishop Terry Curtin and Fr Linh for celebrating such a reverent and beautiful ceremony for the students and their families.

Thank you to Annette Gasbarro (Religious Leader), the Year 5/6 teachers, and the students' families for preparing and supporting these students with the next chapter of their Faith Journey.

Celebration Of Learning

The Purpose of Celebration of Learning, is more than a display of the students' learning. It’s an opportunity for students to reflect on and articulate what they have learned, have their questions and wonderings answered throughout the inquiry and an opportunity to share their strengths.

Ove the coming weeks, your child's year level will have an opportunity to showcase some of their learning to their parents and carers. Below are the times for your year levels.

Celebration of Learning Times

  • Year 1/2 - Thursday June 6th - 3:30pm - 4:30pm, Friday June 7th 9:30am -10:30am

Update School Review

Our School review process is now completed. Thank you to all the staff, children, and families involved in this process. Early next term, we will receive our report, which will outline our strengths, opportunities, and recommendations for the next four-year cycle. I look forward to reviewing the report and sharing our goals with the community for the next four years.

CHOIR IS BACK

I am pleased to announce that the lunchtime choir is back on MONDAYS. This is an extracurricular activity and an opportunity for any interested students. After searching for a teacher, Experience Music has provided a singing teacher for our lunchtime choir.

Lunchtime Choir is a non-obligatory activity for any child who loves to sing and enjoys doing something different at lunchtime. We will meet in the STEM space and learn some songs that we can sing at some of our whole school celebrations and some songs for fun and enjoyment. Please encourage your child to come along and join the fun.
