Learning and Teaching

St John's Choir

This term we will be trialling different times for our school choir rehearsals. We will now meet before school on Friday mornings at 8.20am, as well as during a recess break. This is so that all students have an opportunity to attend, even if they are unable to make it to school earlier. Thank you again for encouraging and supporting your child to be part of our choir!

Year 3/4 Poetry

In Year 3/4 we have been learning about different poetry styles.

Poetry is is written in verse and emphasizes the rhythmic use of words to create imagery.  Poems are different to other forms of writing as it uses verse and may not use complete sentences or punctuation marks. When writing poetry the students place importance on using words and syllables that give rhythm to their poems.

Cross Country

Last week our enthusiastic team of students represented our school at the Whitehorse District Cross Country event at Ruffey Park Lake. Our students all enjoyed the day and ran really well. We were excited that 5 of our students made it through to the next round at the District Cross Country event which was held today. Congratulations to everyone who participated and represented our school proudly.
