PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Paul Dawson

Principal

We are well into term 2, approaching winter and preparing for school exams. This is a crucial time for students to seek assistance in exam preparation and ensure timely submission of assessment tasks. Extra effort in these areas will help students receive a mid-year report they can be proud of.

Staff Recruitment

The school community would like to extend our best wishes to Isobel Peter and Rachel Betts as they embark on their travels in the coming months. Staff shortages, especially in high school teaching roles, remain a significant challenge for schools throughout Victoria. We are fortunate to have Simon Rabl join us as a music teacher. Simon brings extensive experience to the role, and we are eager for him to share his expertise with our students and staff. Laura Hannan Smith will be starting as an English/Humanities teacher next Term. I would also like to formally welcome Carrie Johns as an English/Humanities Teacher, who started earlier this term.

Young Leaders Breakfast

Our College recently held its Annual Young Leaders Breakfast, attended by leaders from 12 Regional Primary Schools. The guest speaker, Aretha Brown, an esteemed Aboriginal artist and community leader, fielded several insightful questions from the young leaders, highlighting the promising talent among us. Our year-level leaders made valuable contributions to the breakfast and deserve thanks for their warm and enthusiastic involvement in all activities. Special thanks to Tonia Tigani, Steve Quinn, and Penny Wilson for organizing this event.

 NGSC Extracurricular Activities

Below are the extracurricular activities/clubs that NGSC staff are running. These activities are a great opportunity for students to explore current or new interests. Most of these activities are run voluntarily by staff, and the school appreciates their generous donation of time. If you would like to participate, please email the listed staff member.
