CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Armidale will celebrate Catholic Schools Week from the 26 May- 1 June.

This event marks a time to celebrate the achievements of our school communities and acknowledge the people dedicated to providing quality learning and a nurturing environment for every student and staff member across our system of schools.

Director of Schools, Regina Menz, said “Our theme Pray with Hope resonates deeply with our Vision: ‘A Christ-centred inclusive learning community that supports young people to realise a hope-filled future.’In this special week, I thank every member of our school and parish community, students, staff, clergy, and our families for the vital role you play in Catholic education in the Armidale Diocese."

ST NICHOLAS' GOT TALENT

Over the past couple of days many of students have showcased their talents in front of a live audience. It was fanastic to see the variety of acts and the enjoyment that was shared by all. We congratulate all of the students who were brave enough to perform their talent and be judged. The winners for both Infants and Primary will be announced at tomorrow's assembly.

SCHOOL UNIFORM - SUMMER TO WINTER

All students are now required to be wearing the full winter uniform. Full winter uniform includes our school tie. Lowes (Peel Street) stock all the St Nicholas School uniforms, or we have a selection available in our clothing pool.

VERITAS

Our Veritas Awards stem from our school motto - ‘Veritas’ - meaning truth. The Veritas Award is awarded to students who have been consistently displaying citizenship, leadership and/or Christian Living. Students receiving a Veritas Award are those students who have displayed our ‘Rules for Living’ in their everyday interactions. This term our focus is on ‘Valuing, respecting and caring for others’.

Congratulations to the following children who received Veritas awards last week:

Ava Harwood, Yug Bhattarai, Levi Charlesworth, Liv Coutts, Isabella Morgan, Layla Bevan, Cali Walker, Quade Henn, Taylor Langford, Mia Langford, Noah Hobden, Sophia Elkhouri, Alexander Kidd, Mia Simpson, Aggie Daly and Ruby McHugh.

SUPERVISION OF STUDENTS

All parents need to be aware, our supervision of students

does not begin until 8.15am each day.

St Nicholas School gates will not be open until the arrival of the first school bus at approximately 8.10am. It is not appropriate for children to be at school before this time with no supervision.

If your child/ren require care before 8.15am you may like to consider before school care here at school with Esteem.

COVID INFORMATION

At the end of 2022, National Cabinet announced that people who test positive to COVID-19 do not need to isolate. In line with this announcement, schools will continue to follow guidance issued by NSW Health to support the safety and wellbeing of our school communities.

Staff and Students with COVID-19 Symptoms

If a student or staff member is unwell and has any symptoms they should always test for COVID-19 and not attend school until they are symptom free.

Positive COVID-19 Cases

If a student or staff member receives a positive result with a RAT or PCR test they should:

  1. Notify school of positive results as soon as possible.
  2.
