Premier's Debating Challenge Round Two

On Wednesday 12th June the Premier's Debating teams battled it out against Penshurst Public School for their Round Two debate. With sickness taking half our teams down, we were very fortunate to have several students step in at the last minute and fill roles, which they did an outstanding job at.

Our first debate saw Abbey, Inayah, Henry and Alexis take the affirmative side for the topic, 'That we should never use computers or devices at school'. They planned and presented a extremely strong case with a well-planned definition and persuasive arguments and their rebuttals were equally as strong. It was a very close debate, but Peakhurst came out with the win.

Our second debate involved Harkiran, Zoe, Jacob and Isabelle and they also were the affirmative team for their debate topic, 'That we should allow students to use their devices at school'. The team set the debate up well with a clearly stated definition and delivered multiple arguments supporting their viewpoint. They are to be congratulated on the effort.

Thank you to Apparna and Nevaeh for being our chairperson and timekeeper and helped the debates run smoothly.
