Callistemon House
Hi, I'm Zenat, the Year 11 SRC for Callistemon!
For me and many of my fellow students, this has been a challenging and enjoyable Semester. We went from stressing over SACs and CATs, to being excited about the upcoming excursions and activities, especially our Athletics Day and Swimming Carnival. Although I wasn't able to attend the Swimming Carnival, I heard it was a fantastic day for everyone involved and everyone had fun swimming or being there to support their Houses. Congratulations to Callistemon House for winning!
Personally, I think the highlight of this Semester was the Athletics Day. It was really fun to see everyone participating in activities, all dressed up in vibrant costumes and overall seeing everyone working together to get points for their House. The energy and enthusiasm there resulted in an enjoyable atmosphere. Once again, congratulations to Callistemon for winning again!
2024 has been going so fast that we are nearly half way through the school year. Soon we have to say our goodbyes to our Year 12s and welcome our new Year 7s. Both Term 1 and 2 have shown the hard work both teachers and students have put in. in what they have done throughout this semester, for year 10s it will be there first time doing their exams in the gym and for our year 12s it will be their last times doing their exams, overall I hope everyone works hard and gets good marks on their exams but still prioritize their health. As we reflect on this term’s achievements, I can take pride in how far we’ve come and look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.
For students who want to show their support for their houses, I highly suggest taking part in chorals, not only does your house really need you to win but you guys can have a lot of fun too, another thing coming up are fundraisers and we would love if students came and participate in different fundraisers for different houses. Personally for Callistemon House we are fundraising for cancer and would love it if students came and helped out with our fundraising. I highly suggest joining those things and many more opportunities which will come throughout the upcoming weeks because it can boost students' confidence, they can show their support for their houses and they can have found memories to look back to in the future.
