Reserve Road Closure

Upcoming road closure as part of the South Geelong to Waurn Ponds Duplication project major occupation that is commencing in mid-June. To safely complete upgrades to the Reserve Road level crossing and duplicate the track, we will be closing Reserve Road again at the level crossing extending over the Barwarre Road and Burleigh Drive intersections from Saturday 15th June to Wednesday 10th July.  

This closure will have impacts and delays for drivers, including school buses. Works will be taking place 24hrs during this period to safely carry out essential drainage, pavement and track works. 

Detours will be in place for drivers and pedestrian access, through this level crossing, is closed for public safety. For your safety, please follow all road signs. Please see the traffic detour map below which will be in place during this time.

We anticipate a travel delay time of up to 20-30 minutes at peak hour, in the first few days of the closure, please allow extra travel time.

As part of the major occupation, coaches replace trains from Warrnambool Station to Geelong Station from the 15 June to 26 August 2024. There will be some dates within this timeframe where coaches will extend to Wyndham Vale. Check PTV before you travel.

Following the road closure in Geelong Rd, Barwon Heads for sewer upgrade last month, the next stage of scheduled works is set to commence next Monday 27/5.

All up, there are 5 scheduled stages of works, each closing a section of Geelong Rd, and expected to take around 2 weeks.   

As the bus cannot travel the length of Geelong Rd for any of these stages, the detour will last for the entire time, i.e. approximately 10 weeks in total. 

Can you please advise students/families, the following services will revert to the detours that were in place during April 2024.

S5 –        Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads to Oberon HS – am and pm.

S7 –        Barwon Heads to Grovedale and Oberon HS - am

N14 –    Grovedale College and Belmont HS to Barwon Heads and Ocean Grove - pm

S26 –     Barwon Heads to Oberon HS – am and pm

Change to Crossing Times on Roslyn Road Highton

A review of the crossing times at Roslyn Rd Highton (b/w Sth Valley Rd and Remony Ave) has identified that the crossing times require an adjustment to better serve your school community.

The new times are as follows:
