FOR SACRED HEART FAMILIES
Term 2 School Fees
Term 2 School Fees were emailed to parents last Friday. These are due to be paid by Monday, 10th June. If you are having difficulty making payment or have outstanding fees, please contact Mrs Claire Ryan to discuss this matter confidentially.
Communication with the Principal or Classroom Teachers
Parents are always welcome to discuss any matters with the classroom teachers or the Principal. However, as their time out of class is limited, it is essential to make an appointment. This can be done through the office or via the Compass App by clicking 'Send email to [your child's name] teacher.'
Attendance at School
Regular attendance at school is a Government requirement and is a vital aspect of a child’s social adjustment (attitudes to school) and learning experiences. Therefore, it is expected that your child attends school on a daily basis unless they are unwell. Below is a table that outlines the impact that absent days have on your child's learning.
Absentee Notes
Sacred Heart must keep a register of enrolment and daily attendance of all children at the school. To comply in accordance with the Registration Systems and in the best interest of students, documentation to substantiate the reason for absence is required. An appropriate reason must be recorded; otherwise, the absence will be recorded as unjustified.
Therefore, whenever your child is absent from school, the school must receive an explanation as soon as possible. If your child is absent and the school hasn’t received a phone call or an explanation of absence on Compass by 10:30am each morning, an SMS will be sent requesting an explanation.
If an explanation is not provided within 7 days of the absence, an unexplained absence will be recorded against your child. A note may be provided in the form of a written note, email or via the school’s Compass App.
Importance of Signing Your Child In and Out of School
All parents and visitors must access the school grounds through the front office so that administration staff are aware of their presence onsite.
If you drop your child off at school after 8:50am, please ensure that you go to the front office to sign your child in on the Compass Kiosk. If someone other than a parent is signing them in, please ask the adult to report to the front office, and Ms Traynor will add them to Compass.
If you or anyone else is collecting your child before 2:45pm, please enter through the front office to sign your child out. Ms Traynor will arrange for your child to come to the office. Please do not enter through the side gate to collect your child.
Please follow these essential procedures to maintain the safety of your child and all of the students at Sacred Heart School.
Change of Family Details
It is extremely important that the school has the correct information for your child on file. Therefore, please notify administration staff of any changes in address, contact numbers, family circumstances, medical details, bus information, and any other relevant information. We ask that you have at least two emergency contact numbers in case you are unable to be reached in an emergency.
Today, Monday 13th May, students should wear their full Winter Uniform.
From the photos below:
Girls can wear the winter tunic, lemon long-sleeve shirt, tie and navy stockings with their black shoes or navy tailored pants (available from the Uniform Shop by pre-ordering), lemon long-sleeve shirt, tie and black shoes.
Boys are to wear long grey trousers, a lemon long-sleeve shirt, a tie, grey school socks, and black shoes. The transition period for the jumper is now over, and all students should wear a new woollen jumper (with the school emblem).
A reminder that sports jackets can only be worn on sports days unless it is extremely cold and then can be worn over the school woollen jumper.
If, for any reason, your child is unable to wear the correct uniform, please contact their class teacher or myself.
