Working Bee this Sunday

Play, weed, get dirty and meet some of the school community!
School Grounds working bee on Sunday 19th May 10-1pm This Sunday we have a special focus on Yakai Barring. Yakai Barring is a and Indigenous regenerating bushland which takes its name from the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung language for "surprise track" . It boasts an ephemeral pebble creek, stone amphitheatre, traditional fire pit and bird hides. To maximise our use of this space for educational opportunities and future social events we will be trimming and pulling weeds. Come to help keep it a lively space and stay for a sausage sizzle at 1pm. Sign in at the STELA building before heading over to Yakai Barring. BYO gardening gloves. Please note: The fire pit will be in use in Yakai Barring as we will be burning weeds in the fire pit to kill off the weed seeds, so there will be smoke around and fire hazards. For those attending who wish to work away from the fire pit - there will still be plenty to do around the STELA productive garden and chicken coop, including enhancing the roosts so we can get new chickens this term!
