Pope Francis

On Tuesday the school community gathered to pray for Pope Francis. Here is a prayer that we said together to remember a wonderful worldwide leader  and true shepherd of the Catholic Church, who continually strived for love, peace, mercy and forgiveness.

Dear God,

Thank you for the gift of Pope Francis.

Thank you for his smile, his kindness, and his love for all people.

Welcome him into your heavenly home.

Help us to remember his words and follow his example, always loving you and one another.

Amen

Parish Fortnightly

Welcome back to Term 2!  Of course, we are all saddened with the news of Pope Francis’ death on Easter Monday.  We pray, God, faithful rewarder of souls, grant that your departed servant Pope Francis, whom you made successor of Peter and shepherd of your Church, may happily enjoy forever in your presence in heaven, the mysteries of your grace and compassion which he faithfully ministered on earth.  May He rest in Peace.

This weekend we have the Confirmation Rite of Commitment.  All Confirmation candidates are required to attend one of our weekend masses.  Please note that the Sunday 5pm mass will be held in the Church not the Chapel.  Please keep these beautiful children in your prayers as they prepare to be confirmed on Thursday 22nd May at St Patrick’s Cathedral.

Father Arsenio is taking some leave and Father John will preside at all masses this weekend.  We are very grateful and thankful to Father John for looking after us in Father Arsenio’s absence.

On Sunday 11th May we celebrate Mother’s Day.  We pray for all mothers and give thanks for the wonderful ways they look after their children.  May the good Lord bless them all.  We hope you enjoy this special day with your family and that you get thoroughly spoilt.  Enjoy.

Blessings from the Parish House Team.
