Dear parents, families and friends,
What a busy term it has been and how quickly it has gone by. I take this opportunity to thank all families for their continued support of our beautiful school throughout the term.
It has been a busy week with; the year Prep Students going off on their Teddy Bear's Picnic, many of the classes showcasing their work and sharing their stories with other classes.
The Easter Bonnet parade was very colourful and saw many amazing hats, headpieces etc... There was also a special visitor which delighted not only the students but also the staff and families. The excitement really stepped up as we prepared to draw out the names of our Easter raffle winners. A huge thank you to everyone who donated eggs, eggs, and more eggs for our Easter raffle! Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered their time to sell raffle tickets each morning. Your support is truly appreciated!
We wish you a safe and relaxing holiday and a very Happy Easter. See you all back in Term 2 on Tuesday 22nd of April.
Greetings From Greece
My Pilgrimage is going very well. We have been on the go each day, making early starts at 7.30am. I have been averaging 19,000 steps a day. Following in the footsteps of St. Paul is not an easy thing to do as he covered so much ground in his three missionary journies. Starting in Athens we have travelled to Mykanos, Patmos, Ephesus, Santorini, back to Athens and Corinth. We are currently in Kalabaka with a visit to the monastery of Meteora tomorrow morning before heading to Thessalonica. Each day concludes with prayer and reflection time and preparation for the next day. It has been inspirational visiting the sites that St. Paul visited and established churches. It has been amazing seeing historical sites that I have read about and seen on film for years since I was a young child. The highlights so far have been seeing the Acropolis and the Parthenon, visiting the House of the Virgin Mary (I really felt the presence of mary here), seeing the ruins of ancient Ephesus where Paul was chased out of the city, standing in the cave of St John the Evangelist where he wrote the Book of Revelation on the island of Patmos and seeing the postcard pretty sites of Mykanos and Santorini. Greece is a country rich in history and tradition and I have grown in understanding of my faith, by visiting monasteries and churches that are not only Christian Orthodox, but are also the connected to the early Christian Church and the Catholic faith. And, of course I can't forget the food!!
