From the School Leadership Team

Sports Day

Last Friday’s Sports Day was a truly fantastic event, filled with energy, laughter, and a strong sense of community. It was amazing to see all the students participating with such enthusiasm and in the right spirit. A huge thank you to Mrs. McCusker for her incredible work in organising the day – her dedication made everything run smoothly!

We are also very grateful to the Parents and Friends (P & F) group for the delicious barbecue,  to the church for hosting the bake sale, offering a variety of tasty treats that were a perfect pick-me-up and to Carla Doecke and the team at LJ Hooker for the coffee van, which kept us all fuelled up!

Were were thrilled to celebrate the official reopening of the resurfaced multipurpose courts. It was exciting to see the new courts in action, and they certainly added to the day’s energy. Thank you to everyone involved in making that happen!

Congratulations to Richardson House who had a long awaited win on the day, breaking their eight year drought to take out the House Shield! It was an unforgettable day, and we look forward to Pong A Thon in Term 3 where the houses will compete against eacho ther once again to raise funds to support those affected by slavery around the world.

Harmony Day

Monday’s Harmony Day celebration was a heartwarming and vibrant display of our school’s multicultural community. It was truly special to see the children come together to celebrate their unique cultures while also learning about each other’s backgrounds. The parade was a highlight, allowing students to proudly share information about their countries of origin and traditional dress.

It was inspiring to witness the excitement and pride the children took in showcasing their heritage, and the sense of unity was palpable. Harmony Day reminded us all of the beauty of diversity and the importance of fostering understanding and respect. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures within our school and to come together as one community. A wholehearted thank you to Mrs Zadow for her efforts in arranging the day.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

We are looking forward to the upcoming parent-teacher interviews on 1 and 2 April as a wonderful opportunity to connect and share in the progress of each child. These interviews allow us to partner with families in supporting the growth and development of the students, and we value the chance to discuss their achievements, challenges, and goals. It is an important time to strengthen the community between home and school, ensuring that we are all working together to provide the best possible environment for the children's success. We look forward to these meaningful conversations and the chance to continue supporting each child on their learning journey.

Bookings can be made through the school's 'Parent Lounge' Parent Portal. Please contact office@goldengrove.sa.edu.au if you require a link or login details to access Parent Lounge.

Messy Church A reminder that Messy Church is coming up after school this Friday, 28th March. It’s going to be a fun-filled, creative time for the whole family, with lots of activities that everyone can enjoy. We look forward to seeing you there as we come together for a wonderful time of fellowship.

Parent Code of Conduct

Our parent code of conduct serves as a critical framework for nurturing a harmonious educational environment rooted in Christian values of love, respect, and mutual understanding. By establishing clear expectations for communication, and engagement, it ensures that parents model positive interactions, resolve conflicts with grace, and actively participate in their children's educational journey in a manner that reflects biblical principles of kindness, patience, and mutual support. This also enables us to mutually enhance our school's Christian ethos as well as to provide students with a living example of how Christian values can be practically applied in daily interactions. Please find a copy of the code of conduct attached as a reminder of our general principles and expectations in this area.

Walk My Way

The Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS) is hosting a fundraising event in North Adelaide on Saturday, 3rd May. This event aims to support ALWS’s efforts to provide humanitarian aid and sustainable development to communities in need around the world.  The fundraiser will offer a great opportunity to connect with others in the community while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

Eisugakkan

Year 5 students from Eisugakkan School, our sister school in Japan, will be visiting Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School from Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th July. During their stay, the students will have the opportunity to experience Australian culture and connect with our students. On Saturday 26th July, the school is seeking  homestay families to host the visiting students, providing them with a unique and memorable experience. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to engage in cultural exchange and offer a warm welcome to these young visitors. If you're interested in hosting, please contact Mrs Melissa Bishop, our Teacher of Japanese via email - bishop.melissa@goldengrove.sa.edu.au
