Nude Food
The Resource Smart team is encouraging students to bring nude food to school each day to help reduce waste. Nude food means packing snacks and lunches without disposable packaging, such as plastic wrappers or foil. Instead, we encourage the use of reusable containers, beeswax wraps, and lunchboxes with compartments. By making this small change, we can significantly reduce rubbish in our schoolyard and help the environment! If students bring wrappers to school, they will be asked to take them home in their lunchboxes for recycling. Thank you for your continued support of this initiative.
Power Ranger Monitors
Each class will be adopting two Power Ranger Monitors who help promote sustainability and care for our environment. Their role includes encouraging classmates to recycle correctly, ensuring that lights are turned off when leaving the room to save energy, and reminding everyone to keep our school tidy. These monitors are our eco champions, helping to make our school a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable place!
Power Ranger Logo Competition
We invite all students at MPS to design a Power Ranger logo on A4 paper. This logo COULD represent sustainability, teamwork, and keeping our school environment clean. The winning design will be proudly displayed in every classroom as a symbol of our commitment to reducing waste and saving energy. Get creative and submit your design to your teacher by the end of Week 1 Term 2.
Thank You
A big thank you to Swapneel and Vicky in Grade 5 for their dedication to keeping our schoolyard clean. Through whole school announcements, they have been actively reminding students to dispose of their rubbish properly and take responsibility for their environment. Their efforts make our school a cleaner, better place for everyone. Let’s VALUE THE ENVIRONMENT!
Resource Smart Team,
Mrs. Saaksjarvi, Mrs. Schinck, Mrs. Bennett and Dr. Spincer.
