Senior School Athletics Sports
Congratulations to all involved in the Senior School Athletics. We enjoyed perfect weather conditions for this action packed day on at the Flora Hill Complex. It was fantastic to see so many students enjoying themselves and trying their best. The students participated in their age groups and completed eight events with an optional 800m at the end of the day. Every student who participated scored points toward their individual ribbon and their House. Our Champion House will be announced at our Assembly tomorrow.
The highlight of the day was the House 4 x 100m relay which was also won by SAVAGE House. It was great to see the students cheering on their representatives in a wonderful display of team spirit.
Congratulations to the following students who were Age Champions for their respective age groups. These students will be announced at our Assembly tomorrow and will receive their medallions.

School Cross Country
Well done to all students who completed our Cross Country on Monday. Once again, the weather was perfect for running and it was great to see students participating to the best of their ability. It was also wonderful to see so many spectators cheering on the children as they crossed the finish line. Every student who completed the course received House points and a ribbon. Bonus points were awarded to students who finished in the top 10 of their event. The winning House will be announced at our first Assembly next term.

Upcoming Holiday Event... Auslan Day - Sunday 13th April 2023
In the holidays, on Sunday 13th April, the Australian Deaf Community will be celebrating Auslan Day! This special day is in recognition of the first publication of the Auslan Dictionary by Professor Trevor Johnston who is a child of a deaf adult, on 13th of April 1989.
'Auslan Day celebrates the rich history, culture, community and language of the Australian Deaf community by honouring the date of first publication of this Auslan Dictionary.' (https://deafaustralia.org.au/)
Auslan Day is a celebration for everyone! You can celebrate by:
* Learning some new Auslan signs.
* Finding out what is happening in the local Deaf community. (Maybe go along and practise some signing!)
* Watching some Deaf people's online videos.
Click the following link to watch an interesting short video (11mins) titled 'Auslan not AUSLAN' featuring Trevor Johnston
