Engagement & Wellbeing

Resilience, Rights & Respectful Relationships:

In 1/2 Lockett we have been learning to manage our stress. We have discussed some of the day-to-day activities or interactions that may cause us stress. We each drew what our very own Stress Monster looks like and recorded how our body and mind might feel in a stressful situation. We then discussed how we can help to manage our Stress Monster when it appears throughout the day.

Our Stress Management unit has come to an end and students now have skills that will hopefully be useful throughout their lives.

Students learnt to identify and describe personal coping skills and explain how these contribute to family and school life. They also discussed and practiced self-calming strategies to manage themselves in stressful situations.

A huge congratulations to our 2025 SRC team! They’ve put in a lot of effort and already made some fantastic improvements! They will be presented with their badges during tomorrow's assembly.

2025 SRC TEAM!
2025 SRC TEAM!

Our first initiative was to organize a new recess-time club! After gathering ideas from classes, we narrowed it down to the top three options: Mindfulness Club, New Skill Club, and Boardgame Club.

There was a clear favourite… and it will be revealed during tomorrow's assembly!

Our SRC representatives have also started helping select sensory items for classrooms. As part of our 2024 SRC action plan, we’ve launched a school-wide 'mini upgrade' to purchase mindfulness and sensory items for every grade! Classes have started ordering items based on the suggestions from our SRC. We’ll keep you updated and share some of the new resources in the upcoming term.
