Schoolwide Positive Behaviour

SWPBS Reward System and Ice-Cream Stall!

We are thrilled to share that our students have been doing a fantastic job of demonstrating respectful behaviours and earning lots of tokens as part of our new reward system! Students receive tokens from their teachers for showing respect in various ways, such as listening to their peers and teachers, helping others, and following school expectations. When students receive a token, they place it in a large container at the office, corresponding to their preferred reward – like the Grill’d donation jars!

It quickly became clear that an ice-cream stall was the most popular reward. To celebrate their efforts, we will be holding an Ice-Cream Stall on Thursday 3 April. We will have a variety of delicious flavours: chocolate, bubblegum, and vanilla, as well as lactose-free strawberry sorbet for students with dietary needs. If your child has any allergies or intolerances, please feel free to provide an alternative treat for them.

School Behaviour Expectations Matrix

We would also like to remind you about our Behaviour Expectations Matrix, which helps guide students in understanding the behaviours we expect at school. Each week, we teach our students a couple of key expectations that focus on important values such as respect, responsibility, and resilience. These expectations are not only taught in the classroom but are also referred to across the school when addressing behaviour to ensure consistency and clarity.

This term, we have been focusing on respectful behaviours, and next term we will be exploring responsibility. We encourage families to use this same language at home to reinforce these important values and behaviours.

If you would like a copy of the Behaviour Expectations Matrix, please feel free to stop by the office and request a printed copy. We would love to have everyone on board as we continue to create a positive and respectful school culture together!
