Weekly Wrap: Year 11

Year 11 Biology

Sarah has been studying plant systems, and recently dissected some celery to inspect its xylem after letting it sit in coloured water. She's about to start studying mammalian systems, so stay tuned for some more exciting dissection photos.

Year 11 Geography

Michael has been doing fieldwork in geography, and recently collected data by talking to local businesses in Charlton, and evaluating flood impact mitigation infrastructure. Thanks to Hayden for letting is into the Rex to start off our day.

WORK EXPERIENCE 

The MCN is a world-class nanofabrication centre, combining cutting-edge technologies with the knowledge and skills of expert process engineers. The MCN represents a $50million investment in micro- nanotechnology infrastructure as a joint venture between seven Victorian Universities and the CSIRO. It is located in the heart of the South-East Melbourne Innovation Precinct. MCN believes in the empowerment of high school students and hopes to see more young people investing in the science disciplines. Exercise Science/Physical Education Webiner

An online event for regional students in Years 9 to 12 who are interested in exploring careers in Sport/Exercise Science and Physical Education. This 45-minute online webinar will feature presenters discussing the benefits of attending University, advice for building a career in the Sports industry and resources available to commencing higher education students. 

 

Panellists will include

 

Dean Russ: Former professional Cricketer, Dean will discuss his experiences in both education and talent management, as well as his insights into Sports Coaching.

Will McGregor: Hailing from Western Victoria and now serving as Head of Community with the Geelong Cats (AFL), Will offers guidance on how to develop a career in Sports Management.

Maddison McNally: Current ACU Education/Exercise Science student, Maddison has earned multiple Executive Dean's Commendations and will share her experiences of Higher Education, including the challenges of moving from Bendigo to Melbourne and navigating the transition from Secondary School to University.
