Weekly Wrap: Year 1/2

Year 1/2 Literacy:

In Literacy, students have been learning how to create a Wishing Tale with a focus on character. Students have just finished writing their innovation on this topic and will now write their hot task to show what they have learnt. Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of learning about Guinea Fowl. Sophie brought two Guinea Fowl into share for Show and Tell. Students have also been studying the book Mad Magpie in their Text-Based unit and have been learning about making connections to the book.

Year 1/2 Digital Technologies:

Students have investigated different kinds of technology in their home. Each student designed and made a model of a digital item which they use at home. Students had a visit from Hayden who showed them the inside parts of a computer. The students asked many interesting questions and learnt an enormous amount of information about how a computer works.
