A Trip Down Memory Lane
A message from our long serving member and exiting PFA President
This was a farewell note from Aban Tengra to our PFA committee and EDSC community at the PFA AGM held on 24 March 2025.
Dear friends of the PFA, staff, teachers and College management. As I stand here, at the end of my twelve-year tenure on the PFA, 5 years as Treasurer, 2 years as Vice President and 5 years as President, I am filled with nostalgia, gratitude, pride and a cocktail of so many more emotions. I started this journey in 2013 (as a new migrant family) when our daughter started high school. Six years later in 2019, I did the entire drill again when our son started his high school journey.
Throughout these years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside incredible individuals who have been, and continue to be, part of the PFA. Our interactions have evolved from simple acquaintanceships into lasting friendships, and I am deeply thankful for each and every one of them. I have had the pleasure of working with three outstanding College Principals during this time, and I’ve witnessed the College’s remarkable growth — academically, in sports, extracurricular activities, in student well-being, and through improvements in facilities and infrastructure. It’s truly been inspiring to see the College’s evolution.
I am ever grateful to all the members of the PFA (past & present). A big thank you to the committees I worked with in my first few years on the PFA, for sharing their know-how and experience, and over the last 7 years to all PFA members who helped me lead the PFA year on year with their unwavering support, willingness to contribute, participate and serve selflessly. Having just one thought in mind, to give back to the College that helps mould our 12 year-olds into accomplished young adults when they graduate from their Alma Mater.
At a personal level, we saw both our children grow into well-rounded citizens of the community with accomplishments not only in academics but in music, extra-curriculars, leadership and more, and for that we are ever grateful to the teachers and educators who supported them through the years. We, as a family look back with great fondness and pride at all those times at EDSC.
At this point I would like to say that it is a truly fulfilling experience to be part of this small group of keen parent volunteers, since it brings about a sense of pride in our children when they see us helping the school as we do. A personal thanks to all members of the staff who have helped in different capacities over the years and to the College leadership (past and present) who have guided me along this journey.
As I step down today, I do so with a heart full of emotions, but above all, with great optimism for the future. I am confident that the parent community at EDSC, through the PFA, will continue to play a vital role in supporting the school and driving forward meaningful initiatives that will benefit not only our students but also the entire school community for years to come.

Baked Goods & Hot Cross Bun Sale at Parent Teacher Interviews - 3rd April
The Bake Sale organised by the Parents & Friends Association on Thursday 3 April was great success. The PFA would like to say a big thank you to the entire EDSC community for your support in buying all the baked goodies and hot cross buns.
Thank you to our own talented PFA bakers for the supply of delicious lemon slices, brownies, cupcakes (orange & berry), Oreo truffles, French palmiers, sandwiches, not to forget the hot cross buns and Easter eggs to bring in the Easter spirit. A very big thank you to all the lovely volunteers (adults and students) who contributed their time to help us, and for working tirelessly throughout the entire afternoon and evening.
Easter - 20 April
Happy Easter greetings, in advance, to the College community celebrating this festival during the term break. Wishing you a fun filled celebration.
