Product Design
This semester the Year 10 Product Design class was tasked with designing and constructing an LED lamp made from reclaimed pallet wood. They completed a folio, including a design brief, research and many drawings of potential designs, then began their construction. All ideas were their own and they made some very successful products.

Quantum Victoria Excursions
Student Reports
On 26 March we attended the Quantum Victoria Forensic Investigation excursion, where we had the opportunity to develop essential skills on how to solve real-life crime situations. During the excursion we investigated different ways of retrieving evidence in a crime scene, using fingerprints, hair and blood samples, footprints, GPS tracking, and soil analysis. This hands-on experience was both educational and engaging, offering the chance for us to have fun and work with other students, as well as testing our analytical skills. I would encourage other students to attend this event in the future.

On 26 March a group of Year 9s and 10s went to Quantum Victoria to learn about materials of the future and nanotechnology. It was such a fun experience working with other students and completing exciting experiments. We learnt about different materials, how they work, and their application in the real world. It was an amazing experience with a lot of takeaways.
We thank Rotary Manningham City for their support in subsidising these excursions.

Environmental Science Excursion
The Year 12 Environmental Science students made the journey to the Werribee Open Plains Zoo on Thursday 20 March to take part in the education program for their Unit 3 coursework.
Students were able to explore the zoo and were guided on what programs the zoo undertakes to support vulnerable species in our environment and ultimately address extinction in Australia.
Students were not only able to have a guided tour but also explored the zoo’s vast range of animals from across the globe before finishing off on the much-anticipated Safari Tour. The Year 12 team enjoyed the opportunity to take a range of examples away to support their learning in the classroom.
