Environment Club – Container Deposit Scheme

The Environment Club spent our meeting painting boxes to be used for our container deposit collection points. Look out for the orange boxes next term! The cans and bottles we save will be traded for money to use for charities, and projects around the school.

Please ensure all bottles and cans are empty when they are put in our collection points. Bottles and cans should not be crushed.

Food Drive Term 2 - Years 7 - 9

As part of our Year 9 Humanities focus on Food Security, we have been considering the impacts of food insecurity for countries around the world, and for our local community. We would like Years 7, 8 and 9 to be involved in supporting people in need.

In response to the increase in the number of families in Melbourne who are struggling to have enough food, we are running a food drive in the second week of Term 2.

If you are able to donate items, please bring them to Positive Futures on the third Tuesday of Term 2 -Tuesday 6 May.  The following items can be donated, please ensure items are unopened and in-date:

·       canned fruit and vegetables

·       breakfast cereal

·       pasta, noodles or rice

·       coffee, tea, and spreads

·       sauces

·       cooking supplies such as flour or sugar

These items will be donated to FoodBank, a charity who supplies food to those in need. If you would like to read more about this charity, head to: https://www.foodbank.org.au/?state=vic.

Students can bring these items to their Positive Futures class before they are taken to a central classroom.

Thank you for your generosity, and support of those in need!

Can You Help the Environment Club?

We are excited to be expanding our environment club’s gardening program, creating a hands-on experience that fosters curiosity among our students. However, we need your help!

Do you have old gardening equipment, native or fruiting plants cluttering up your house? We kindly request that you consider donating them to EDSC.

If you have something you would like to donate, please email Nicola Ritchie at Nicola.Ritchie@education.vic.gov.au

Thank you for your kindness and support.
