Literacy
"Two letters making one sound" is a familiar chant in the room at the moment. We have been practising the range of letters and sounds such as sh/ch/wh/ff/ll/ss/zz. One example of the sentences we have been practising is: 'Did Miss Tiff shut the till?' Have a look at the words we have been decoding, reading and writing below.
Numeracy
Numeracy has continued to build on our understanding of counting collections and the importance of place value. Students have been working on part/part/whole and partitioning numbers, demonstrating this using tens frames and number bonds. We then moved into addition and subtraction, and using money ($1) to add totals. Counting to 100 and beyond has been a moment of celebration for many in the class.
Concert - Wednesday, December 10th
Concert information has been sent via Xuno and email. The students are SO INCREDIBLY excited and practising hard. The school concert theme is music genres, so be ready for a night of rock, rap, pop, kids' music, and more! Please come and speak to me after school if you have any questions at all.
Lego Club
Clubs alternate with assembly every Monday. Students nominate a club they would like to go to, and groups are a mix of students from all year levels. Sadie and Lexie were loving the endless possibilities in LEGO club this week.
