SKiPPS Promotional Video
We are excited to share the video that has been created to showcase life at SKiPPS. It captures the spirit of our students and community beautifully and will be used as a promotional piece on our school website and social media channels.
Please take a moment to watch the video. If you notice any footage of your child that you would prefer not be included, please let Jac Morphy know as soon as possible on jacqueline.morphy@education.vic.gov.au

End of Term Arrangements
As we hurtle towards the end of the year, we wanted to confirm a few arrangements for the end of the year;
Final Transition/Meet the Teacher Day - Wednesday 17th December
- On the afternoon of Wednesday 17th December (2-3pm), students will move into their final 2026 classes and meet their teacher for next year.
End of Year Reports released - Thursday 18th December
- Our Semester Two student reports will be released on Compass on the afternoon of Thursday 18th December. These reports provide families with an understanding of their child's performance against the Victorian Curriculum progression points and teacher comments on their learning and behaviour for the second half of the school year.
For those students leaving SKIPPS at the end of this year, please note your COMPASS access will be cut-off on the evening of Friday 19th December. Please ensure you download or print any School Reports, tax receipts and other information you require from COMPASS before this date.
Final Day - Friday 19th December
- On the final day of the year, we will hold two assemblies - one at 9am to share celebrations, performances and Year 6 Leadership awards.
- We will then hold a final assembly at 1:15pm for our Year 6s to be formally farewelled and for them to perform their leaving song to the school.
- School finishes at 1:30pm on the final day of the year - please ensure you have made arrangements for an early pick-up or booked into Team Kids.
Team Kids will also be available for supervision of your child during the school holidays and on the Pupil-Free days listed below.
The full program for the Team Kids Holiday Program can be found under the Team Kids page in this newsletter.
- Tuesday 27th January 2026
- Wednesday 28th January 2026
Please book a place for your child at Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) in Australia | TeamKids
2026 - Returning to school date
In 2026, the first day of school will be Thursday 29th January for all students.
- Years 1 - 6 will line up in the Quadrangle at 9am and school will conclude at 3:30pm.
- Foundation will meet in the Quadrangle at 9:15am, finishing at 2pm.
Our lost property has collapsed!
Such is the weight of discarded and forgotten jumpers, coats, tops and other lost property at SKiPPS that our lost property rack buckled and collapsed this week.
To help us resolve this pressing OH&S issue, please take a few minutes at drop-off or pick-up to visit the lost property area (just off the quadrangle near the Year 3 classrooms) and take home anything that belongs to your child.
As always, any lost property unclaimed by the 19th December, will be collected and donated to charity.
School Car Park - Help us to help you
Once again in recent weeks, we have seen a couple of incidents in the car park straight after school due to school families not parking safely or considerately.
Due to congestion, our strong recommendation is that families take advantage of the free parking on Lakeside, Hockey and Village Green Drives at busy times. However, if you are using the small Parks Victoria car park at drop-off and pick-up times;
- Please only ever park in the marked parking bays. Do not park on the footpath on the Bowls Club side as this blocks the footpath - forcing children onto the road and also blocks traffic flow and prevents other cars from passing safely. If you cannot find a marked, safe parking space please show patience, stay with your car and wait for a space to become free. Your child's teacher will stay with them until 3:45pm and then take them to the office so there is no need to act in an unsafe way & abandon your car on the footpath in order to make it into school for 3:30pm. Never park illegally and then leave your car unattended.
- Move slowly at these times and be aware of who is around you. There are a large number of children who walk home in this direction and it is always a possibility that they will forget their road-sense and run between vehicles. Please help us to avoid a potentially highly distressing accident.
- Remember that there is plenty of free parking on Hockey Drive, Village Green Drive and Lakeside Drive at these key times when you display a SKiPPS sticker on your windscreen. Often parking this little bit further away and avoiding the congestion of the car park actually saves time (and a huge amount of stress). Please drop into the school office to get your free sticker and further details of this arrangement with Parks Victoria.
- Never drive onto the school grounds (even if dropping off or picking up from Team Kids). Before and after school (and during the school day) our school grounds are used for basketball training, as a play space by Team Kids and for many other activities that will see children running around. To add to this, at dawn and dusk light and visibility are poor. We have seen a number of parents driving into the school grounds to drop-off and pick-up at these times, often at high speed as they assume the school is empty. Please do not drive onto school grounds and use the car park instead.
