T.I.M.E. Program

T.i.M.E. (Thornbury Instrumental Music Experience) Program
As you may have heard, the kids and TIME teachers have been busy this year! With one-to-one lessons and band rehearsals throughout the year, the kids and teachers have had their hands full. Yet, all of this hard work has led up to something special: The Arts Festival!
Two weeks ago, the TIME Program, with the helping hands of Erica, Antoinette and parents and carers, kicked off our 2025 Arts Festival. The festival showcased a wide range of talent. Starting the festival with a blast, the audience was wowed by the Year 6 Orchestra performing ‘Dragonhunter’ featuring Luca (violin), Annie (viola), Felix (violin), Reuben (violin), Rocco (violin) and cello teacher, Phil. This performance brought an exciting buzz to the atmosphere! The audience was eagerly anticipating what the festival had to show!
The Arts Festival was programmed with three different sections: the Mini’s, Midi’s and Mega’s. In our Midi’s section, we had a range of performances such as the Year 3 Orchestra performing ‘Frere Jacques’ to Olive (guitar), Francesca (guitar) and Lilla (drums) performing ‘Vampire’ in a band and Arik playing ‘Epic Keys’ on the piano. This was our largest section. We are so fortunate to see how enthusiastic and willing these students were in making and performing music together.
Our Mini’s section, if you can guess from the name, featured our younger students from Year 2s to below! All these performances were drums, piano and/or voice. Some notable performances were a ukulele ‘orchestra’ with Lakota’s students performing ‘Rudolph the Red Butt Monkey’, Daisy (piano), Jean (piano), Indi (piano) and Frida (drums) playing ‘Golden’ from K-Pop Demon Hunters and Otto strumming his song called ‘Otto’s Uke’.
Finally, our senior section, the Mega’s, featuring many students who have spent a few years practicing and mastering their instruments! We had various bands led by Emma, Lakota, Brian and Maria. These bands performed a range of songs such as ‘Feel Good’ with Pepi, Lenny, Sammy, Luca and Milo on guitars and a classic by the Black Sabbath’s ‘Paranoid’ with Oscar (bass), Tom (guitar), Hector (guitar), Bon (drums) and a special feature from our ukulele/guitar teacher, Brian on the vocals.
Erica and the Arts Ambassadors, Felix and Olive, also led Thornbury’s Got Talent where many kids showcased their hobbies and skills! These kids had a fantastic opportunity to present their hidden and now not-so-hidden talents for the school. We also got to hear and see the TPS Choir led by Erica and Mary’s Dance Group.
The 2025 Arts Festival, a community-driven project, really showcased the supportive and collaborative environment here at Thornbury Primary School. We are so fortunate to have supportive parents, hardworking kids, passionate teachers and generous school to make this festival happen. We give big thanks to those who came along, supported the kids and the program, and the school for letting us be part of this fantastic and talented community.
If you’re curious about the TIME Program and want your kid to be involved in this next year, we have opened up our 2026 enrolments!
