STEM

The Foundation/Grade 1 students have been expanding their block coding skills by creating animated stories in small groups. Their coding adventures have taken characters into outer space, onto the farm and even into environmental discovery missions! It’s been wonderful to see their creativity shine as they blend storytelling with early coding concepts.
The Grade 2 students have been tackling a series of Sphero block-coding challenges, navigating their robots through mazes, obstacles and student-designed missions. Some classes have even created challenges for others to attempt, adding a collaborative and competitive twist that has sparked great excitement across the cohort!
The Grade 3/4 students have been producing incredible instruments for the STEM Music Jam! Using MakeyMakey devices and Scratch, students have designed and built pianos, drum kits, saxophones, trumpets and more. Their innovation and craftsmanship have been outstanding—keep an eye out for photos and videos coming soon.
The Grade 5/6 students are putting the finishing touches on the Babajen Blast Arcade! Their arcade games combine technology, engineering and creativity, resulting in an impressive collection of student-designed experiences.
Highlights include a basketball shoot-off game, a steering-wheel-controlled car racing game, claw machines and many more imaginative builds. Students are excited to share their arcade with the rest of the school in the coming weeks! See the photos provided for a sneak peek!
