This week, students in years 7-10 across the arts are preparing for their assessments, which range from live performances, composing music, creating artworks to making their own documentaries. We wish all arts students the best as they put their finishing touches on their creative works!

Below is a documentary by Year 9 Film, TV and New Media students Archer Smythe, Charlie Kelly and Mitchell Stacey. Students were asked to plan, film and create a documentary about one of the most popular pastimes of the school – handball. This group really took to this project from the start of the semester and are noted as having been a very creative an imaginary group of students. We congratulate these boys on their commitment to their studies and their final video.
We congratulate Year 10 student, Aaron Bell for receiving “Artwork of the Month” for November.
For his classwork, Alex had to present a skateboard design centred on the concept of Youth Culture. As a boarder from North Queensland Aaron’s design explores his love of fishing in the Great Barrier Reef. He used acrylic paint to create his design.

“Incubator” is an annual Visual Art initiative facilitated by “Hands on Art”, providing opportunities for Year 11 / 12 and first year tertiary Visual Art students to exhibit their work in a professional gallery setting. Submissions are subjected to a selection process by a panel of judges and this year, artworks by six of our Year 12 Visual Art students, have been selected to be part of the “Incubator 2025”. The exhibition will run from 13 – 19 December at the historic Substation Gallery, 150 Enoggera Terrace, Paddington, Q 4064. Congratulations to the following year 12 students – Van Sanders, Henry Meinicke, Zachariah Watts, Andy Surtees, Harrison Marshall, Braidyn Polich.
