Congratulations to all of our Bunjil Award winners from last week. There certainly were a lot of you! This is a wonderful example of how amazing everyone is working at the moment across the campus. Well done!

Music Lessons in 2026

Look out for Music lessons at Scotsburn in 2026. After some discussions with Jess Higgins-Anderson and Bryan Anderson (Adele’s parents), we are looking to implement a music lesson program in 2026. This has been something that has been floated a few times over the past couple of years, and we are very excited to finally offer this to Scotsburn families.

Bryan is a highly experienced instrumentalist and a registered Music Therapist. He has specialised training in teaching piano to young people with additional needs and has taught piano privately, at studios in Melbourne and at Christian College Geelong. Bryan has broad musical knowledge and experience with decades of experience playing in bands as both a drummer and pianist. Bryan focuses on teaching music fundamentals through whatever genres interest kids, whether that’s accompanying themselves singing K-Pop Demon Hunters, rocking out to heavy metal, learning video game soundtracks or working through a more ‘traditional’ teaching approach.

Lessons will most likely be held on Mondays in 2026 during school hours – dates and times TBC. $40/30 min lesson. Paid in term blocks. Bryan is looking to offer private instrumental lessons on piano, drums and beginner guitar.

Thanks so much Bryan and Jess, we look forward to this opportunity in 2026!

New Cabinetry in the Old Building

Last week we had some well overdue work happening on the entry way to the Old Building. The benches and cupboards were literally falling apart and we think the new cabinetry looks great! A huge thank you to Michael (Mrs Anderson’s husband) for installing the cabinetry. Some final tasks for this area will be to install tap fittings, make a bench seat cushion and for Liz to install a mosaic splash back.

Energy Breakthrough

Good luck to Amity at Energy Breakthrough this week! This is a huge event that has been in the planning and preparation for the last six months. We can’t wait to hear all about it!

Bollywood Dance Workshop (at Scotsburn)

This Thursday we have some visitors to the campus to run a Bollywood Dance Workshop. This program is part of Mount Clear College’s Connecting Schools with Indian Communities initiative. This 1 hr workshop will be lots of fun!

Last Wednesday, Scotsburn again had a visit from the Year 8 students at Damascus St Brendan’s Campus. The visiting students had prepared an activity to accompany a picture story book, working one to one with an SC1 student. They then stayed for recess break to have a play with their new buddies. It was such an amazing morning and we love this connection with St Brendan’s. We look forward to strengthening this partnership further in 2026!

We have some exciting news to add to our end of year events at Scotsburn! The Buninyong Community Playgroup have organised another Christmas Wonderland event, however this time we have planned it for Friday 12th December, as part of a regular school day in Week 10. This will allow our students and families to be involved in the day.

We will have more official details and advertising in the next few weeks, however below are the details we have so far:

Scotsburn Intercampus Travel

At times, Scotsburn students will be transported between campuses in order to attend classes, assemblies, special days and events. On most occasions, transport required through the day will be by bus and occasionally private car for smaller groups of students. Parents may be asked to drop off or collect from the Buninyong campus if sessions are at the beginning or ending of a day.

We will always let you know of any upcoming travel arrangements via our newsletter, Compass, or via phone for smaller, more specific travel arrangements.

If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding intercampus travel, please contact your child’s teacher.
