Camp recap!
What a wonderful few days we had at the Peninsula Outdoors Camp, down in Merricks. The 90 students that attended all had a ball, participating in a number of activities, such as surfing, canoeing, orienteering and crate stacking.
Each night, we had a school led activity, the first night was the famous disco, while it was a lot of fun, a lot of our students were struggling with their voices the next day! On the second night, we had our annual movie night in the eating hall.
A massive thank you to our hosts at Peninsula Outdoors Camp, and also our parent helpers that stayed with us. Thank you to Elaine, Michael, Joe, Andrew and Miranda. Without your help, we would not have been able to do this camp.
Mini museum
Students in the senior building, over the past week, were given a task. They were asked to create a 'mini museum' about a topic that they are passionate about. After around 4 lessons to get their displays ready, they were asked to present their work to their peers. This happened on Wednesday, where everyone got to share their work.
Our mini museum task was taken on with vigorous enthusiasm from the students, and it allowed them to feel confident in their presentation skills, as they were talking about something they were extremely interested in.
And boy did we have some unique topics, whether it was the history of the National Basketball League, The Simpsons, or simply a project on pigeons, the creativity of our students genuinely shone through!
Captain's speeches
As you read this, we will have just concluded our speeches for the School Captaincy for 2026. We have had a large amount of students nominate for the role of captain, and we look forward to sharing the news with everyone, once the successful candidates are known.
Additionally, for the students interested, House Captains speeches, will be occuring in Week 10.
